Placements
God is at work in such diverse ways across Cumbria. This diversity is reflected in the different placements available. Below are just some of examples of previous placements.
An inner city placement
In the middle of the community, this inner city placement has a café and charity shop. With the aim of bringing the community closer together, they’ve created a great space to hang out and make friends whilst also open up for prayer and meditation, craft and discussion, and evening activities such as film nights and open mic night.
It’s a placement that includes support of volunteers, helping behind the scenes and getting involved with events, activities and Sunday services.
A Rural Placement
An ecumenical placement in rural Cumbria where you will get to explore a range of styles of worship and community engagement. You will get to work with those in different ministerial positions and from different church denominations and pioneering.
Typical experiences during the week might include playing Scrabble and helping make the soup at our Renew Wellbeing Cafes, shadowing clergy on pastoral visits, helping to lead the youth club and volunteering in the local secondary school. You will also be involved in worship, Bible studies, care home visits, toddler groups and much more.
